Audi Q8 4M Matrix & Laser Headlights USA — 2020, 2021, 2022 & 2023 Activation Guide

Matrix and Laser headlight activation is available on 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023 US-spec Audi Q8 4M.

The Q8 4M received Matrix LED headlights as an available option from 2020 onward. Higher trims and the SQ8 / RSQ8 often include HD Matrix with Laser Light (PR-code 8IT) which also activates through RetroLab Pro.

Required hardware (check window sticker or myAudi app):

• PR-code 8G4 — Matrix LED headlights (most Q8 Prestige owners)
• PR-code 8IT — HD Matrix with Laser Light (SQ8, RS Q8, top Prestige configs)

Matrix LED (PR-8G4):

• Adaptive High Beam Assist — segments mask oncoming traffic in real time
• Cornering Light, Highway Mode, Intersection Mode
• Dynamic Light Distribution

HD Matrix with Laser (PR-8IT):

• Everything above, plus Laser Light that extends the high beam range by up to 500m — the longest-range headlight system Audi makes
• OEM RS Q8 welcome animation (on supported variants)

The Q8 is a large, fast SUV — having the full adaptive lighting system active is particularly noticeable on US highways at night.

Both Matrix and Laser activations on the Q8 4M run through the RetroLab Pro app.

• iPhone 13/14 + Lightning-to-LAN adapter, or
• iPhone 15/16/17 + USB-C-to-LAN adapter
