Audi Q7 4M — Every OEM Activation You Can Unlock

US and Canadian Q7 4M vehicles ship with Matrix LED hardware — and on Laser-equipped trims, a Laser high beam unit — physically installed but software-restricted. The hardware is already in the headlight; only the software gate is closed.

RetroLab Pro re-enables Matrix segment control and — where Laser hardware is present — the Laser high beam that engages at motorway speeds:

• Per-segment LED masking of oncoming and preceding vehicles
• Dynamic light distribution based on speed, steering angle and navigation data
• Motorway mode for extended range
• Cornering mode at intersections
• Laser engagement at motorway speeds (Laser-equipped Q7 / SQ7)

Applies to the Q7 4M facelift and SQ7 4M, model years 2020–2023 with factory Matrix (and optional Laser) hardware. Pre-facelift Q7 4M (2016–2019) uses different headlight modules and is not part of this activation. Model year 2024+ with SFD2 protection is supported for an additional €100 via a guided remote session. Price: €200, one-time, permanent.

The Q7 4M spans three distinct generations, and Traffic Sign Recognition is available across all of them — but the activation method and price change depending on which one you have.

RetroLab Pro activates OEM TSR end-to-end — configuring the front camera, linking it to the Virtual Cockpit or Instrument Cluster Top, and enabling the navigation-fused sign display so speed limits and other road signs are picked up from the road exactly like a factory-optioned car.

• 2015–2019 (pre-facelift): activation runs through the RetroLab Pro app. €75.
• 2020 (facelift, first year): activation also runs through the app. €100.
• 2021–2023 (facelift): activation can only be run through a guided remote session on a Windows PC + ENet cable. €300.

Requires Q7 4M with PR-QK1 front camera + Virtual Cockpit or Instrument Cluster Top + Navigation System. 2024+ model years are not currently supported.

The Q7 4M has an unusual infotainment story. The 2020 model year facelift is the only Q7 4M that shipped with the MHI2P head unit — and it is the only Q7 that can have CarPlay and Android Auto software-activated.

• Apple CarPlay — €100. Wired works immediately. Wireless CarPlay works too if the MHI2P software is version 2711 or newer.
• Android Auto — €100. Wired USB, full MMI integration.

Pre-2020 Q7 4M vehicles use the older MIB2 system, which cannot be activated this way. 2021+ Q7 facelift trims use MIB3 and typically ship with both CarPlay and Android Auto already enabled — check for a "Phone Apps" tile before ordering.

Two more OEM activations for Q7 4M owners:

• One-Touch Tailgate Close — Converts the powered tailgate on Q7 4M and SQ7 to true single-press close from the key fob and interior switch. Applies to model years 2016–2022 with the factory powered tailgate. Not offered on 2023+ Q7 facelift trims. €65.
• Subwoofer Menu (MIB3) — MIB3-equipped Q7 4M facelift trims with the Audi Sound System (PR-9VD) show only Bass and Treble in the MMI Sound menu. This unlocks a dedicated Subwoofer slider next to Bass. Applies to model years 2021–2023. Not compatible with Bang & Olufsen 3D. €50.

Both are one-time, permanent, VIN-verified.
