Audi Q7 4M Matrix & Laser Headlights USA — 2020–2026 Activation Guide

Matrix and Laser headlight activation is available on 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, and 2026 US-spec Audi Q7 4M (including SQ7).

The activation method depends on the model year:

• 2020–2023: app-based activation — €200 / ~$240 USD
• 2024–2026: guided remote session on a Windows PC (Audi's updated security architecture) — €300 / ~$360 USD

Required: factory Matrix LED or Laser headlights (PR-code 8G4). Available on Premium Plus and Prestige trims of the 2020+ Q7 facelift. Pre-2020 Q7 4M models do not have Matrix hardware.

Matrix LED activation restores the full adaptive high-beam system on the Q7:

• Adaptive High Beam Assist — individual LED segments mask oncoming drivers and cyclists in real time
• Cornering Light — wide illumination through turns before the car rotates
• Highway Mode — extended beam range at speed, particularly useful at Q7 highway cruising speeds
• Intersection Mode — maximum spread at low-speed junctions
• Dynamic Light Distribution — continuous adaptation to speed, steering, and road conditions

Blue Laser Light add-on (Laser-equipped Q7 / SQ7 only, +€50 / ~$60):

• Activates the factory laser projector for 500m+ high beam range — the widest and longest illumination available on the Q7

The Q7 4M Matrix system is identical to the European hardware. The activation restores what Audi locked before US delivery.

2020–2023 models activate through the RetroLab Pro app:

• Windows PC + ENet cable (~$25 on Amazon), or
• iPhone 13/14 + Lightning-to-LAN adapter, or
• iPhone 15/16/17 + USB-C-to-LAN adapter
