What You Get

Many Audi Q8 4M vehicles with MHI2P MMI were delivered without Android Auto enabled, even though the infotainment system is capable of supporting it. This leaves Android users limited to the standard MMI environment instead of using Google Maps, Spotify, calls, messages and other supported apps directly through the factory screen. This activation enables Android Auto in the original MMI using RetroLab Pro. The process is completed through a guided 2-step activation in the app and does not require patching, software flashing, or unofficial modifications. Android Auto works as a wired connection only on these supported vehicles — this product does not include wireless Android Auto functionality.

How It Changes Behavior

From factoryon a stock Q8 4M (including SQ8 and RS Q8) with MHI2P delivered without Android Auto, the MMI shows no Android Auto tile in the connectivity menu and an Android phone plugged in via USB only acts as a media source — Google Maps, Spotify and messages stay on the phone screen.
