How to Activate Traffic Sign Recognition on Audi e-tron GT

Your Audi e-tron GT's front camera can already read speed limit signs — but the feature is not enabled. Traffic Sign Recognition displays current speed limits right in your Virtual Cockpit. Like the e-tron GE, the GT platform only supports one activation method — here's why, and what it costs.

Activation Price: €300One-time • Permanent • VIN-verified

What Does TSR Do on the e-tron GT?

Once activated, Traffic Sign Recognition on your e-tron GT or RS e-tron GT uses the front camera (PR-QK1) to detect road signs in real time:

  • Speed limit signs displayed directly in the Virtual Cockpit
  • No-passing zone indicators shown when relevant
  • End-of-restriction signs automatically clear the displayed restriction
  • Navigation integration supplements camera data with map-based speed information for improved accuracy

This is a full activation — not just a coding change. RetroLab Pro configures the camera module, links it to the cluster, and enables the complete data pipeline. The result works exactly as if it were factory-activated.

Why Is e-tron GT TSR Remote-Session Only?

Traffic Sign Recognition is available on Audi e-tron GT and RS e-tron GT (FW) across all model years, 2021–2023 — EU and NAR markets.

Required hardware:

  • Front Camera (PR-QK1)
  • Virtual Cockpit
  • Navigation System

Due to how the e-tron platform's gateway and camera controllers are wired, this activation can only be performed through a guided remote session on a Windows PC with an ENet cable — there is no app-based path for this model, for any model year, the same as on the e-tron GE.

Requirements & Pricing

What you need: Windows PC + ENet cable (remote session required — no app-based path on this platform).

Price: €300 — flat, all model years, one-time, permanent, VIN-verified.
