Which A8 Model Years Are Supported & What Do They Cost?

Traffic Sign Recognition activation is available on all Audi A8 D5 model years from 2018 through 2023 — A8, A8 L and S8 all included.

The method and price depend on model year:

  • 2018, 2019, 2020: activation runs via the RetroLab Pro app. €100.
  • 2021, 2022, 2023 (Facelift): requires a guided remote session on Windows PC + ENet cable. €300.

Both deliver the same full OEM TSR behaviour — speed limits, no-overtaking signs and warning signs displayed live in the flagship Virtual Cockpit and head-up display.

How TSR Activation Works & What You Need

2018–2020 A8/S8: activate via the RetroLab Pro app on iPhone or Windows PC with an ENet cable.

2021–2023 A8/S8 (MIB3): guided remote session — ENet cable connected, our team runs the activation live. You see every step.

Requirements: front camera (PR-QK1) + factory navigation + Virtual Cockpit with TSR support.

Does TSR Work Across the UK and Europe?

The A8 D5 MIB3 update (2021+) uses a new gateway architecture that requires a remote session toolchain instead of the standard app path. The TSR result is identical — only the toolchain and price change.
