What You Get

Audi Q7 4M vehicles can be delivered from the factory without Apple CarPlay enabled across both infotainment generations. The activation method and price depend on your model year:

2020 — MHI2P MMI: activation runs directly through the RetroLab Pro app. €100. Wireless CarPlay is supported on MMI software 2711 or newer.

2021–2023 — MIB3: activation requires a guided remote session on a Windows PC + ENet cable. €300.

How It Changes Behavior

From factoryon a stock Q7 4M delivered without CarPlay — whether MHI2P MMI (2020) or MIB3 (2021–2023) — the MMI shows no Apple CarPlay tile in the connectivity menu and an iPhone plugged in via USB only acts as a media source.

After activationApple CarPlay appears natively in the MMI connectivity menu — Maps, Music, Messages, Phone and all CarPlay apps run on the MMI display. Wireless CarPlay is also supported on MHI2P vehicles (2020) running MMI software 2711 or newer.
