Built-in ActivationFinally hear what your A6's subwoofer can actually do — independent slider next to Bass in the MMI.
Audi A6 C8 trims with Audi Sound System (PR-9VD) leave the showroom with only Bass and Treble exposed in the MMI, even though every car has a subwoofer playing under the rest of the system. There's no way to balance it from inside the cabin, so long-distance listening sessions end up sounding fine at one volume and muddy at another. This activation unhides the dedicated Subwoofer menu through a guided, VIN-specific OEM workflow in RetroLab Pro, with no dealer visit, no remote coding, and no manual scripts.
From factorythe C8 MMI only shows Bass and Treble. The subwoofer is doing real work in the cabin, but you can't see it or adjust it anywhere in the Sound menu.
After activationa dedicated Subwoofer slider appears next to Bass in the MMI Sound menu, so you can dial the low end back during quiet motorway cruising or push it forward when the music actually deserves it.
A6 C8 Sedan / Avant, S6, RS6 Avant — with MIB3 + Audi Sound System
Yes — the A6, S6 and RS6 all share the same headlight platform on the C8 chassis. Note that the RS6 Avant ships exclusively with Laser headlights, while the A6 and S6 are available with Matrix LED or Matrix HD LED.
Absolutely. The RS6 Avant uses Laser headlights as standard. This activation unlocks the full beam-forming capability plus, optionally, the blue laser accent lamp (+€50 add-on).
Matrix HD LED uses a higher-resolution light module with more individual segments for a finer, more precise beam pattern. Both types are fully supported by this activation — select your headlight variant in the picker above.
Audi updated the security architecture on the C8 Facelift II (2024+), which prevents direct app-side access to the headlight module. Our team performs the activation remotely over a guided ENet session on your Windows PC. The result is identical to earlier years.
All A6, S6 and RS6 C8 from 2018 through 2025 with factory Matrix or Laser headlights. 2018–2023 activate via the RetroLab Pro app. 2024–2025 require a guided remote session (€300).
No dealer visit required. App years (2018–2023) need only an iPhone or Windows PC with an ENet cable. Remote session years (2024–2025) require a Windows PC with an ENet cable and a scheduled call with our team. The activation itself takes around 20 minutes.
Yes. The licence is permanent and VIN-locked — one-time payment, no expiry. Certain dealer software updates (such as an SVM run) or a full module reset can clear it, though a routine service visit won't. Rerun the RetroLab Pro app at no extra charge. Remote session reactivations are always free — lifetime service for your VIN.
Audi restricted Matrix at the software level to comply with older NHTSA regulations. The hardware is DOT-compliant and factory-installed. The decision to use adaptive high-beam on public roads is at the discretion of the vehicle owner.
Yes. Canadian-spec Audi vehicles are delivered with the same factory Matrix LED hardware as US-spec models — the adaptive beam function is software-restricted at the factory for the same North American regulatory reasons. RetroLab Pro supports NAR-spec (North American Region) vehicles, which covers both US and Canadian market delivery. The activation process, pricing, and hardware requirements are identical.
