How to Unlock the Hidden Subwoofer Menu on Audi A8 D5

Your Audi A8 D5 flagship has a subwoofer built into the Audi Sound System — but the dedicated Subwoofer slider is hidden by default in the MMI Sound menu. In a whisper-quiet flagship cabin, every Hz of bass is audible. Here is how to unlock the hidden Subwoofer control.

Activation Price: €50One-time • Permanent • VIN-verified

What Is the Hidden Subwoofer Menu?

The Audi Sound System (option code PR-9VD) in the A8 D5 Facelift includes a dedicated subwoofer that reinforces the low frequencies of the 10-speaker system. However, in the factory MMI Sound menu, only Bass and Treble sliders are exposed. The subwoofer level itself is fixed at a default value and cannot be adjusted independently.

This activation unlocks a dedicated Subwoofer slider next to Bass in the MMI Sound settings, giving you independent control over subwoofer level — critical in a flagship cabin engineered for silence, where every fluctuation in low-end response is obvious.

Which A8 D5 Models Support This?

Audi A8 D5 Facelift and S8 D5 Facelift (2021–2023) with:

  • Audi Sound System (PR-9VD) — 10 speakers with subwoofer
  • MIB3 MMI infotainment system

Not supported: vehicles with the Bang & Olufsen 3D sound system, A8 D5 pre-facelift (MIB2 — different platform), or A8 D5 without the PR-9VD option.
