How to Activate Traffic Sign Recognition on Audi A4 B9

Your Audi A4 B9's front camera can already read speed limit signs — but the feature is not enabled. Traffic Sign Recognition displays current speed limits right in your instrument cluster. Here's how to activate it on your A4.

Activation Price: €75One-time • Permanent • VIN-verified

What Does TSR Do on the A4 B9?

Once activated, Traffic Sign Recognition on your A4 B9 uses the front camera (PR-QK1) to detect road signs in real time:

  • Speed limit signs displayed directly in the instrument cluster or Virtual Cockpit
  • No-passing zone indicators shown when relevant
  • End-of-restriction signs automatically clear the displayed restriction
  • Navigation integration supplements camera data with map-based speed information for improved accuracy

This is a full activation — not just a coding change. RetroLab Pro configures the camera module, links it to the cluster, and enables the complete data pipeline. The result works exactly as if it were factory-activated.

Which A4 B9 Models Support TSR?

Traffic Sign Recognition is available on Audi A4 B9 models from 2016 to 2023 — EU and NAR (North American) models.

Required hardware:

  • Front Camera (PR-QK1)
  • Virtual Cockpit or Instrument Cluster Top
  • Navigation System (MIB2 or MIB3)

The A4 B9 has the widest year range for TSR support in the lineup, covering both pre-facelift and facelift models.
